Prevention methods

Often, mosquito bites don’t cause any lasting harm. They cause mild annoyance and irritation for a short period. However, mosquitoes are dangerous because they spread diseases that can be fatal.

Drain

Once a week, empty and scrub, turn over, cover, or throw out any items that hold water like tires, buckets, planters, toys, pools, birdbaths, flowerpot saucers, or trash containers. Mosquitoes lay eggs near water.

West Nile Virus & Dengue

Dengue fever and West Nile virus (WNV) are both arboviruses that are spread to humans by mosquitoes. Both diseases are often mild, but some people can develop severe illnesses.
