NURSING
The Division of Nursing for the Kings County Department of Public Health is staffed by public health nurses, community health nurses, community medical service workers, community health worker, community health aid, physical therapist, health educator, and office assistants that deliver an array of health and wellness services, health education, and outreach to individuals, families, and communities throughout Kings County. These services are delivered on the phone, and in homes, clinics, centers, schools, and other locations.
Starting May 2, 2022 the Department of Public Health will no longer accept referrals for nurse home visits. If you have a health need, contact your medical provider or your managed care provider.

The MCAH program maximizes health through education and encouraging positive health behaviors resulting in individual responsibility in the health process coupled with equal access and awareness of community resources, prevention services, and primary health services leading to a sense of self-worth and responsibility to the self, culture, and society.
