PARTNER NOTIFICATION
When you test positive for a sexually transmitted infection (STI), including HIV, our health department offers Partner Notification. This is free, voluntary and confidential. These services are offered to people who test positive for certain STIs like syphilis, HIV, chlamydia or gonorrhea.
Health Department staff contact people with STIs and their sex partners to:
-
Answer questions about STIs
-
Help you get treatment if you have not done so already
-
Tell your partners, or help you tell your partners, they may have been exposed to an STI
-
Help your partners get tested and treated for STIs
Partner Notification helps prevent the spread of STIs, and helps protect you from getting infected again.
You can also use an online anonymous partner notification tool, which allows users to notify partners via text or via email www.tellyourpartner.org
