Child Health and
Disability Prevention (CHDP)

The Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) program was a health promotion and disease prevention program designed to meet federal Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) requirements. As of July 1, 2024, the CHDP program has ended. Providers continue to serve their patients and offer all children's preventative services as before. 

Children's Presumptive Eligibility

Due to CHDP ending on July 1, 2024, the CHDP Gateway has transitioned to Children's Presumptive Eligibility. Clients will receive these benefits while awaiting enrollment with Medi-Cal.

Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention 

Lead testing is available at the Health Department if referred by a provider to screen children for elevated blood lead levels. Elevated blood levels have been associated with growth and development problems in children under six years of age.

Medi-Cal eligibility required.
